The defending champion Golden State Warriors entered the 2016 playoffs with a full head of steam having just completed the greatest regular season in NBA history at 73-9. Their first round matchup was #8 seeded Houston. Game 1 was played in front of the Dub's always raucous crowd at Oracle. As expected it did not go well for the Rockets. They fell 104-78 and got boat-raced from the opening tip. Curry had 24 points before tweaking his ankle and played just 19 minutes. Klay scored 16 and Draymond did his usual stat-stuffing.
The bench played a key role especially after Steph left for good. Power forward Marreese Speights had 12 points on 5-11 shooting and grabbed five rebounds in 15 minutes. Backup center Festus Ezeli contributed eight points and six boards in ten minutes. Even shooting guard Brandon Rush got into the action at the very end. Featured here is a great trio of game-worn jerseys donned by these aforementioned reserves in Golden State's April 16 2016 playoff opener. The win set the tone for another deep run to the Finals where they ultimately fell to the team of destiny that year LeBron's Cavs.
The home white mesh jerseys each have the team crest on the front with the player's respective number in gold backed with their name and number in blue. Appropriate adidas climacool tagging appears on the left shirttails in each shirt's respective size ("3XL +4" Length" for the two bigs and "XL +2" Length" for Rush) with the game date "4/16/16" penned in black marker on the Player ID label. The NBA Authentication code is punched into the NBA label which corresponds to its NBA/MeiGray paperwork. Each jersey displays appropriate wear and appears to have been washed. While each player has since moved on from the Warriors they were all important members to the team's first title since 1975 and record-breaking season the following year. Few were as popular as "Mo' Buckets."
