After Sam Jones’ initial seasons in Boston showed he was a legend in the making it was only natural the club would want to lock their budding star into a multi-year contract. This Uniform Player Contract stipulates a salary of $15500 a year for both the 1961-62 and 1962-63 seasons. The contract has been dated June 12 1961 and signed by Jones club president Walter A Brown and Elizabeth A. McManus in blue pan and NBA President Maurice Podoloff in black pen. The contract has three horizontal folds from mailing and the signatures are well preserved. A type written note has been stapled to the upper left corner noting the two-year addition and has been signed by Samuel Jones and Walter A. Brown in blue pen. A unique for its time multi-season contract signed by three NBA Hall of Famers.
