In 1945 the Detroit Tigers finished first in the American League with a regular-season record of 88-65 before defeating the Chicago Cubs in a tight seven-game Fall Classic. The hard-fought championship marked the organization’s second World Series title. One member of that year’s squad was 38-year-old utility outfielder Harry “Hub” Walker.

This lot features Walker’s 10K gold ring that was awarded to him as a member of the 1945 World Champion Detroit Tigers with an inset real diamond solitaire of approximately .25 total carat weight surrounded by "DETROIT TIGERS WORLD CHAMPIONS" lettering. One shank features raised silver decor including "HW" initials with criss cross bats while the other sports a silver baseball design with a crown on top. The interior ring band is marked "10K" along with "BP & Co." manufacturer's hallmarks and has been inscribed in cursive lettering with "Presented to Harvey Walker by the Baseball Commissioner.” Overall condition is outstanding with light general surface wear and notably strong lettering/engravings. The 1945 Tigers World Championship ring is one of the rarest and most sought after of the 1940s era rings. The ring size is 10.5.

LOA from family.
