Longtime shortstop Rafael Belliard was a member of the Atlanta Braves 1995 World Series championship team as well as the ’96 Braves squad that fell to the New York Yankees in the Fall Classic in six games. This lot features Belliard’s 1996 Atlanta Braves National League Champions 10-karat gold player's ring. After defeating the Cleveland Indians to win the World Series the year before the Braves fell to the up and coming New York Yankees in 1996.
This ring shows the Braves tom-a-hawk style logo sitting atop a field of small real diamonds with 4 small rubies at the corners and "ATLANTA N.L. CHAMPS" above and below in raised lettering. On one shank it reads "BELLIARD" his uniform No. “2” and "1966-1996 with a raised image of Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium in the center with matching text. The other shank reads "1996 FIVE STRAIGHT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES” "4 OUT OF 5” and “World Series” in script with the MLB logo at the bottom. The interior band is stamped "10K.” Ring size: 11½.
