The 1955 campaign is widely hailed as one of the most historically significant seasons in baseball history. That year the Brooklyn Dodgers finally overcame their cross-town nemesis and halted the Yanks' run at yet another World Series title. The offered relic recalls that minor hiccup in what was otherwise an era of superiority for the New York Yankees. For once Jim Turner was on the losing side of that fabled Fall Classic and presented is his 1955 New York Yankees American League Championship ring. A total of twelve stones four of which are genuine diamonds adorn the Yankees emblem that tops the piece. The authentic gems are complemented nicely by the four red and four blue cubic zirconia and all together the gems reveal a red-white-and-blue design. The raised lettering surrounding this colorful presentation reads "New York Yankees American League Champions" and the year "1955" is featured on both of the opposing shanks with raised baseball motifs set below each design. The inside of the size "12" band exhibits the etched "James R. Turner" signature along with Balfour's "LGB 14K" engraving.
