In 2011 the Alabama Crimson Tide football team under fifth-year head coach Nick Saban finished the season with a record of 12–1 overall (7–1 in the SEC) and were crowned national champions. They defeated Saban's former team LSU in the BCS National Championship by a commanding score of 21-0.
This lot features Alabama wide receiver #25 Danny Woodson Jr.’s player ring commemorating that National Championship season. The size 12 3/4 (48g) ring showcases a large red gemstone in the center with Alabama’s “A” logo resting on top sporting multiple light gemstones. Additional stones create a football design that is embedded into the ring’s face which includes raised lettering that reads “NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.” One shank includes “WOODSON” in raised lettering and his red Crimson Tide helmet with number “25” showing. The other shank reads “ALABAMA 21 LSU 0” “NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP” “2011” and “CRIMSON TIDE.” "Balfour GT" and "Danny Woodson" is engraved in the interior band. Exhibits NM-MT quality throughout.
Woodson Jr. redshirted before transferring to South Alabama in 2013. His father (Danny Woodson Sr.) played QB at Alabama 1990-91.
