By the time the dust had settled on Albert Pujols' fifth MLB season he had socked 41 home runs and knocked in 117 while batting .330 remarkable numbers that brought him his first of three National League MVP awards. His first five seasons rank up there with any player in history marking his route to Cooperstown with an assurance unmatched by any player of his generation so early in a career. Presented here is Pujols' 2005 home St. Louis Cardinals jersey from that incredible MVP campaign.
The white knit button-down shirt has the appropriate Majestic tagging on the left front tail along with a Size 50 flag tag. The classic Cardinals bat logo is in superb condition on the front with only the barest hint of any fraying of the delicate stitching. The same can be said for Pujols' famed No. 5 in red on black tackle twill front and back and his block-letter "Pujols" in the same fashion on a white nameplate on the back. The tail of the jersey has Pujols' custom hand-cut effect starting roughly two inches below the Majestic tagging. The iconic Major League Baseball red white and blue embroidered logo appears on the back of the collar. Inside this jersey is tagged with a pro-coded "0062" wash tag. On the sleeve of this jersey is the 1966-2005 Busch Stadium Final Season patch directly above the embroidered Majestic logo. This jersey exhibits light evidence of game use. It comes from the estate collection of renowned jersey collector Delbert Mickel.
