The most durable player of his era Steve Garvey played an NL-record 1207 consecutive games and anchored baseball’s longest-running infield playing first base with Ron Cey at third Davey Lopes at second and Bill Russell at short from 1973-1981. His career really took off in 1974 when he was named MVP of both the All-Star Game and the National League. Garvey won four Gold Gloves led the league in hits twice and was named to 10 All-Star games in his 19 seasons. "Mr. Clean" is certainly one of the most popular L.A. Dodgers of all time. His 1982 game jersey offered here was donned in his final season in Dodger Blue before moving down the coast to San Diego.
The white knit button-down jersey has "Dodgers" across the front in scriptedblue logo with Garvey's No. "6" in red below. Number also appears on reverse below his arched NOB both in blue with white outline. The appropriate W.A. Goodman & Sons tag in the collar notes size "44" with washing instructions. Garvey has blessed the front with a lovely 7-8/10 autograph in blue. Shirt displays significant wear throughout with consistent spot soiling.
