The late Ralph Branca passed away on Nov. 23 2016. Up until his death the longtime pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers was the oldest living member of the ‘47 team that integrated Major League Baseball by welcoming in Jackie Robinson. Branca won a total of 88 regular season games for the Dodgers between 1944 and 1956. This lot features a 1974 L.A. Dodgers National League Champions 10K white gold ring that was issued to Branca for his outstanding ongoing service to the organization.
The ring’s classic design features an interlocking "L.A." logo on top face that is accented by 21 small diamonds. The ring’s beveled edge reads "Dodgers National League Champions" in raised lettering. One shank includes the year "1974" above a relief of Dodger Stadium while the other shank includes his name "BRANCA" above the team’s trademark logo. It is marked "Balfour 10K" on the interior band with light wear showing. The size 11 ring comes inside its original Balfour box.
