During the 2005-06 NBA season Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant led the league in scoring with an incredible 35.4 points per game. Playing in 80 regular season games Bryant poured in a total of 2832 points as the Lakers finished third in the Pacific Division standings. It was during this spectacular campaign (1/22/06 to be exact) that Mamba put up 81 against Toronto the 2nd highest single-game output in history behind Wilt The Stilt's 100. Presented here is a dual-signed pair of Kobe's game-worn signature model sneakers from that remarkable season that have been professionally photo-matched to a November 27 2005 home contest against the New Jersey Nets in which the Lakers legend erupted for 46 points.
The size 14 purple-and-white Huarache Zoom Air Model ‘2K5’ shoes show appropriate court usage and feature a wrap-around Velcro strap in front just above the top of the tongue. Boasting a purple-and-white paisley design feature throughout the shoes both kicks are sporting a single large purple Nike swoosh outlined in Lakers yellow and have been signed by Bryant just above the swooshes. Kobe used a black fiber-tip marker and added his uniform number “8” with his signature. Bryant’s personal “Black Mamba” logo can be found on the heels of both shoes in purple. The original white laces and purple insoles remain intact. The sneakers are properly tagged on the interior with "PROMO Y3" player-issue cording and the manufacturing date of "10-12-05."
According to a handwritten letter of provenance the shoes were sourced from the son of former NBA player Clifford Robinson who contributed 8 points off the bench for the Nets in their 102-96 victory at the Staples Center in the aforementioned game.
Includes LOA from Resolution Photomatching. Two LOA's from PSA/DNA one for each shoe. Full LOA from JSA as well.
