You’d be hard pressed to find a more eccentric pitcher in the Hall of Fame than Dizzy Dean. Besides winning 150 games in his career, including one 30-win season, Dean was the game’s reigning cut up of the Depression-era. Dean would give his unsuspecting Gas House Gang teammates the hot foot in the dugout, impersonate a painter and intrude in on a room full of conventioneers, and give sportswriters quotes such as, “The good Lord was good to me. He gave me a strong body, a good right arm, and a weak mind.” This unique MacGregor “97” League ball was signed in a typically eccentric manner by the Hall of Famer – he signed it four times! Dean’s trademark flowing signature appears in blue pen on each of the ball’s four panels. The “97” League ball shows light toning from age and Dean’s signatures – all four of them – display nicely against the warm toned leather. The ball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method. If you would like your items shipped in a different method, such as UPS/FedEx Next Day or UPSFedEx 2-Day, you must contact our Post Sale Services Manager Veronica Rodriguez by emailing customerservice@scpauctions.com to discuss alternative shipping instructions.
