The late great Tony Gwynn a beloved member of the San Diego Padres for 20 seasons recorded his 3000th major league hit on August 6 1999 versus the Montreal Expos. The away game played at Olympic Stadium saw Gwynn go 4-for-5 on the night and help the Padres score a 12-10 decision. In doing so the perennial .300 hitter raised his batting average to .326 on the season. This lot features a pair of Tony Gwynn game-worn wristbands attributed to his 3000th-hit game that were previously on display at San Diego State University Gwynns college Alma mater. The gray Franklin wristbands include Gwynns uniform No. 19 in black. The consignor obtained the wristbands directly from the company that was handling the Tony and Alicia Gwynn (TAG) Foundation's memorabilia sales back in 2012.
