Ted Williams stands alone as the last player to bat .400 in a major league season, a feat he accomplished in 1941 and one that has never been approached since. The "Splendid Splinter" retired in 1960 with a .482 on-base percentage — the highest in baseball history — and 521 career home runs.

 

This lot features a Ted Williams cut signature rendered in blue ink on an aged index card, displaying the confident, full-letter cursive that defines his classic penmanship. The clean signature with "Ted" separated from "Williams" is his vintage style, aging it to either his playing days or close to it. Cut signatures of this caliber represent some of the most accessible and display-worthy pieces from one of the game's immortals. Includes full LOA from JSA.
