Cy Young remains the most dominant pitcher in baseball history by nearly every measure, winning 511 games over a 22-year career that spanned the 19th and 20th centuries.

 

This rare single-signed Wilson baseball bears Young's signature in blue ink applied on July 20, 1949 — just a few years before his death in November 1955 — making it a late-career signing from one of the true pioneers of the professional game. The ball is a vintage cushioned-cork construction consistent with the era. Young's signature, while showing natural age-related fading consistent with its 75-plus years, remains legible and fully attributable. Authenticated by JSA with a Letter of Authenticity. Signed Cy Young baseballs are among the most difficult pre-war materials to source, and this dated example represents an extraordinary collecting opportunity.
