Offered here is Hall of Fame defensive back Rod Woodson’s 2002 AFC Pro Bowl uniform set with the jersey pants and turf shoes he wore in the February 9 2002 game. The 11-time Pro Bowler in his 17-year NFL career was appearing at the annual post-season All-Star contest for the 2nd to last time. During the 2001 season his last with the Baltimore Ravens Woodson recorded three interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. He also had 55 tackles 12 passes defended one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The jersey is a distinctive red and white mesh jersey with a unique airbrush-like white to red fade in the torso. The shirt has red and white elastic on the sleeve ends white V-neck collar. "R. WOODSON" appears on the back in white tackle twill lettering over a red nameplate. Red black and white tackle twill No. “26” appears front and back and on the sleeves. The colorful Pro Bowl 2002 embroidered patch is sewn to the left chest and the iconic NFL logo patch is at the bottom of the V neck. “RAVENS" embroidered in white on a red appears on the right chest. The embroidered Baltimore Ravens logo patch appears on both shoulders. Reebok logo patch is sewn on each sleeve. "ALL-STAR" in white tackle twill is sewn to the front above his number and flanked by two white stars on each side.
The manufacturer’s tagging on the front tail is missing having been cut-off on Woodson’s the custom trim job that shortens the shirt to roughly six inches below his number. Only the 100% Polyester and washing instructions tag inside the right inseam remains. Unlike most Pro Bowl jerseys that show little to no wear from the easy-going flag football game that is often played this one absolutely reeks of perspiration and is covered in soiling and sweat stains. Woodson has signed the back ‘2’ with the inscription “Game Worn 2002 Pro Bowl” in 8-9/10 black Sharpie.
Woodson’s white pants with red stripes feature an NFL patch on the inside of the zipper next to a “100% Nylon” washing instructions and size "36" and "Short" flag tags. “26 RW” is handwritten in black on the waistband. Pants shows outstanding game use like their jersey counterpart with soiling and spotting throughout. The NFL shield logo patch appears at the left thigh with Reebok logo on the right thigh. Belt laces and all other elements are intact.
Finally the red and white Nike Zoom Air turf shoes from the game come in size 13. They have the manufacturing date of 4-10-01 on the interior tagging. A custom heel pad is built in to each shoe for Woodson’s preferred comfort and support. Rod has signed his left shoe on the toes in 9/10 black marker with “Game Worn 2002” inscribed on the heel. They show excellent game use on the bottoms and exterior. What a fantastic complete uniform set from one of the greatest DB’s in history!
