The Chicago Bears franchise has produced countless outstanding football players including numerous Hall of Famers. This lot features a pair of footballs signed by some of the biggest names in Bears history.
The first Wilson NFL football includes a pair of white panels one of which is christened with a blue-and-orange logo showing the Bears helmet and a second logo reading “NFL COLLECTIBLES.” The other white panel includes four signatures in black marker from four of the greatest players in the team’s long illustrious existence: Mike Ditka former tight end and coach of the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Bears; the late Walter Payton considered by many the greatest running back of all-time; Gale Sayers the electric running back and return man who once scores six touchdowns in one game; and Dick Butkus who redefined the middle linebacker position and perhaps the most feared tackler ever. Payton (“34”) Sayers (“40”) and Butkus (“#51”) have all added their uniform numbers. The four signatures are certainly legible but have faded over time.
The second football is an official white panel Wilson ball with the NFL’s “75th Anniversary” logo. It includes Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus signatures in black on separate panels. They both have added their uniform numbers.
Includes Letter of Provenance from a Chicago Bears executive. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
