The 2012 MLB season was yet another bountiful one for the San Francisco Giants who were just two years removed from their first World Series title in 56 years. The Giants finished with a regular-season record of 94–68 to win the N.L. West flag and then beat the Cincinnati Reds in five games to become the first N.L. team (eighth in MLB History) to come back from a 2-0 deficit in a best-of-five Division series by sweeping three games in the opponent's park. The Giants next defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games after overcoming a 3-1 deficit in the N.L.C.S. to advance to the 2012 World Series to face the Detroit Tigers. They swept the Tigers in four games to win their second World Series title in three years. This lot features a 2012 San Francisco Giants World Series Champions ring that was awarded to Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda. The former slugger from Puerto Rico whose number 30 is retired is one of five Giants to have his very own statue around AT&T Park. He has served the team for 21 seasons as a community relations representative.

Designed and produced by Tiffany & Co. the ring pays tribute to the Giants unprecedented six elimination game victories before their sweep of the Tigers in the Fall Classic. The face of the 14K white and yellow gold championship ring features the "SF" logo in 52 round melee diamonds. Above and below is a bezel reading "WORLD CHAMPIONS." Seven round diamonds on each side represent the organization's seven world championships. One shank has the name “CEPEDA” with the year "2012” flanking a city cable car – one of the iconic symbols of San Francisco. The other shank has the results of their three 2012 postseason series wins with "SFG 4 – DET 0 SFG 4 – STL 2 SFG 3 – CIN 2." During the two N.L. series the Giants faced six elimination games and won them all. Stamped inside the band is “TIFFANY & CO. AU 585” denoting its primary 14-karat white gold content. Ring comes in size 15 and weighs 86 grams.

This heavily-coveted modern championship ring represents the Giants' second ever baseball title in the City by the Bay and is issued to one of the franchise's greatest players. It shows some wear but still presents exceptionally well and comes with its original  5” x 5” x 2.5” black presentation box emblazoned with the team logo and "October 28 2012."

Includes LOA from Orlando Cepeda.
