Addendum: The '585' code that Tiffany & Co. uses on its rings stands for 14K white gold not sterling silver as indicated in catalog and initial online description. This ring is made entirely of 14K white and yellow gold.

The 2010 MLB season was a fortuitous one for the San Francisco Giants. After compiling a 92-70 regular-season record to win the N.L. West Division the Giants won the first game of their N.L. Division Series against the Atlanta Braves when Tim Lincecum struck out 14 in a 1-0 victory setting a franchise postseason strikeout record. On October 11 the Giants won their series against Atlanta advancing to the N.L.C.S. against the Philadelphia Phillies. On October 23 the Giants defeated the Phillies to advance to the World Series where they squared off against the Texas Rangers. On November 1 the Giants defeated the Rangers 3-1 in Game 5 to win their first Fall Classic since 1954 when Willie Mays patrolled centerfield. This lot features a 2010 San Francisco Giants World Series Champions ring that was awarded to Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda. The former slugger from Puerto Rico whose number 30 is retired is one of five Giants to have his very own statue around AT&T Park. He has served the team for 21 seasons as a community relations representative.

Produced by Tiffany & Co. the ring is made from 14 karat white and yellow gold. The face holds the "SF" logo set with several round diamonds encircled by a bezel of yellow gold flanked by two round diamonds and the words "WORLD CHAMPIONS" in raised lettering. The perimeter contains more small round diamonds. One shank of the size 15 ring has the year "2010" flanking a yellow gold tower of the Golden Gate Bridge. The other shank includes "CEPEDA" across a ribbon that floats over a raised image of the World Series trophy. Within the top of the trophy is an orange Spessartine garnet representing the San Francisco championship and at the base of the trophy are five diamonds representing the five New York championships. Within the interior band is engraved the results of the team’s three successive 2010 postseason series wins: "SFG 3 - ATL 1 SFG 4 - PHI 2 SFG 4 - TEX 1.” Also stamped inside the band is “TIFFANY & CO. 585” to denote its primarily 14-karat white gold content.

This heavily-coveted modern championship ring represents the Giants' first ever baseball title in the City by the Bay and is issued to one of the franchise's greatest players. It shows some wear but still presents exceptionally well and comes with its original black presentation box emblazoned with the team logo and "November 1 2010."

LOA from Orlando Cepeda.
