Addendum: The '585' code that Tiffany & Co.uses on its rings stands for 14K white gold not sterling silver asinitially indicated. This ring is madeentirely of 14K white and yellow gold.
There must have been something in the air when the modern San Francisco Giants were playing in an even year. After notching two World Series titles in three years (2010 and ’12) the Giants repeated the feat once again in 2014. Behind the powerful left arm of ace Madison Bumgarner the Giants turned a second-place finish in the N.L. West into the team’s third World Series championship in five years! In order they outplayed the Pittsburgh Pirates in a one-game Wild Card playoff before disposing of the Washington Nationals in four games in the Division Series. They next conquered the St. Louis Cardinals in five games in the N.L.D.S. before winning a tight seven-game Fall Classic against the upstart Kansas City Royals.This lot features a 2014 San Francisco Giants World Series Champions ring that was awarded to Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda. The former slugger from Puerto Rico whose number 30 is retired is one of five Giants to have his very own statue around AT&T Park. He has served the team for 21 seasons as a community relations representative.
The gorgeous 14K white and yellow gold ring features a real diamond-studded team logo on the face with three larger diamonds above representing the current dynasty's World Championship count and five more below representing the balance in franchise history. "World Champions" stands in raised text at the outer edges. The left shank features “CEPEDA” above a figural Golden Gate Bridge while the other shank pictures three World Series trophies above an engraved "2014." The interior band is engraved with the results of all four playoff series and a stamped "Tiffany & Co. AU .585" denoting its primary 14-karat white gold content.
The band measures to a size 15 and the ring weighs a robust 96 grams. It presents in outstanding condition. Original box not included. Ring shows some minor wear but presents beautifully. It is the most impressive aesthetically of the three Giants rings in their five year championship window and this one is issued to one of the franchise's all-time greats!
