Since it’s opening in 1928 the Boston Garden was home to some of the greatest moments in Boston sports. 17 Stanley Cup finals games were played under its roof and speeches by FDR and JFK once reverberated between its walls. The Garden is most known however for being the home to the Boston Celtics the most successful franchise in NBA history. Any reminiscence of the old Celtics team is incomplete without thinking about the parquet floor upon which giants like Bill Russell Sam Jones John Havlicek Don Chaney and Larry Bird once trod. This commemorative piece of the old Boston Garden’s famed wooden floor has been signed by the man who helped bring 10 championships to its environs. Sam Jones has signed in black marker adding his number “24.” The piece has been professionally mounted and framed above an engraved brass plaque which reads “SAM JONES BOSTON CELTICS 1957-1969.” The display piece measures 14" x 14¼".
