It's difficult to imagine a more touching photo from the family archives of Mickey Mantle America's beloved "Last Boy" shown here in this stirring 11-by-14-inch black and white photograph with his four sons. The image shows Mantle in uniform at the left posing with his four towheaded sons each holding a baseball bat of inversely gargantuan proportions: Danny Billy David and Mickey Jr. In an empty white section on the back wall that seemingly screamed for an autograph in this instance it got just that a blazing perfect 10/10 blue Sharpie Mantle classic along with a "Father of the Year?" inscription made all the more compelling by the realization two of his sons died tragically young. This is an absolute stunner from the family archives of arguably the most beloved player in postwar America.
