Here's something seen about as rarely as Bigfoot: Michael Jordan's official boarding pass while traveling with the Chicago Bulls on a road trip late in the 1988-89 season. What's more "His Airness" has added his lovely autograph in 9/10 blue pen. The Continental Airlines boarding pass was issued on April 15 1989--as noted by the printed "15APR89" date of issue and "15APR1030" departure time--for Flight 755 from Newark N.J. to Cleveland Ohio. This matches up perfectly to the Bulls schedule on their late season road trip.
Jordan and the Bulls played at the New Jersey Nets on 4/14/89 and then traveled to Cleveland to play the Cavaliers on 4/16/89. They would have flown from Newark to Cleveland on their day off. Matted with a red Bulls-themed background and enclosed in a lovely 6 1/" by 14" mahogany frame this piece is a true catch for any serious MJ collector. His pre-1990 autographs are very hard to come by. According to the consignor the boarding pass was sourced from a Bulls employee. How else could it have been procured?
