Presented here are three commemorative Olympic medallions.1) Sigfrid Edstrom's 80th Birthday medallion issued 1950. Cast bronze 6cm diameter honoring 4th International Olympic Committee president (1942-52). Edstrom was a Swedish industrialist who organized the 1912 Stockholm Games. He was also the first elected president of International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF). Obverse - image of Edstrom. Reverse - French inscription with 80 years ("1870-1950") call-out and Olympic motto. MT.

2) 1912 Stockholm Olympics 50th anniversary medallion issued 1962. Cast bronze rectangular 7 x 11 cm. Design of face has Nike Goddess of Victory on left crowned victor in middle and four-horse chariot on right. Reverse blank. MT.

3) William May Garland Award medallion. Cast bronze 3cm diameter. Obverse - Image of Garland with Olympic motto and "1866 - 1948." Reverse - 1932 Los Angeles Summer Games torch image in middle "Wm MAY GARLAND AWARD" below it and "SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COMMITTEE FOR THE OLYMPIC GAMES" around perimeter. Unknown when this was made but looks more modern than other two. Garland organized the 1932 Los Angeles Games and was a member of the IOC from 1922 until his death in 1948. Sticky substance used to display at Helms museum still present. Can easily be cleaned. NM-MT overall.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
