Here is a stunning piece of Italian football history: a late 1970s ACF Fiorentina Serie A match-worn home jersey worn by the legendary Giancarlo Antognoni, one of the most celebrated Italian midfielders of his generation and an icon of calcio's golden era. The short-sleeve jersey is constructed in the iconic Fiorentina viola (purple) cotton with red contrast detailing — the unmistakable colors of the Florentine club.
The jersey features a red V-neck collar with red ribbed cuff trim on the sleeves, and the bold Fiorentina club crest displayed prominently at center chest: a large circular badge featuring the fleur-de-lis symbol rendered in red on a white circular background, circled by a white border — one of the most distinctive and elegant crests in Italian football history. The reverse displays an extraordinary applied "#10" numeral in a unique circular design — a white disc bordered in purple containing the red "10" numeral — a design specific to Fiorentina's kit of this era and immediately identifiable to aficionados of Italian football.
The jersey presents with characteristic wear consistent with sustained match use. Antognoni, a World Cup winner with Italy in 1982, spent the majority of his illustrious career at Fiorentina and is revered as one of the greatest players in the club's storied history. From the Oscar Collection.
The Oscar Bernardi Collection
This shirt comes from the personal collection of José Oscar Bernardi, better known as Oscar, who played for the Brazil National Team from 1977 to 1986. Included is a letter of provenance signed by Oscar. Most jerseys in the collection were obtained directly through player swaps after competition. Others were acquired via gifts or trade with footballers in Oscar’s wide network of teammates and friends. At age 71, he still resides in Brazil and is ready for his collection to be appreciated by others in the hobby.
