Before he became NBA superstar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, he was Lew Alcindor, pride of the John Wooden-led UCLA Bruins team that won three consecutive NCAA titles from 1966 to 1969. A tremendous Malcolm W. Emmons photo was taken for publication in The Sporting News and depicts Alcindor shrouded with a cut down net after one of these NCAA title wins. With no one else around him capturing a stunning portrait photo. The surface shows light toning from age and creasing in the white border on the top left. The reverse shows light toning from age and bears the stamp of Malcolm W. Emmons along with the handwritten “Alcindor†and an updated “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar†in blue pen and a Sporting News Collection hologram sticker. This photo has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
