This remarkable action shot captures Dr. J doing what he did best. The ABA superstar was in the midst of his New York Nets fame when this shot was captured at a home game in Nassau Coliseum. Though the photo is undated, Erving starred for the Nets from 1973 to 1976, winning two ABA Championships, three straight ABA MVP Awards, a pair of Playoff MVP Awards and three scoring titles. The photo shows light toning and has a wide white border that highlights the action captured within the frame. The reverse of the photo carries Ken Regan’s stamp along with the handwritten notation, “Julius Erving NY Nets at Nassau Coloseum (sic) 1/74.†Several other production notations are present along with a bar code sticker. This photo has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
