Presented is the official program from the June 30, 1954 FIFA World Cup Semifinal at the Stade Olympique de Lausanne — the Uruguay vs. Hungary match in which the powerful Hungarian "Golden Team" of Puskás, Kocsis, and Hidegkuti defeated the two-time defending World Champions Uruguay 4-2 in extra time in what is widely regarded as one of the greatest matches in World Cup history.
The program is printed in French and carries the iconic 1954 tournament cover design: the goalkeeper-and-ball illustration in blue and orange, "Championnat du Monde de Football 1954 / Coupe Jules Rimet" running vertically along the spine. The program displays age-appropriate toning and minor wear consistent with its age.
