The 1987 MLB season marked the first World Series title in Minnesota for a franchise that was originally born in 1901 as the Washington Senators and just the second in the full history of the team after Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson led the nation's capital to the promised land back in 1924. The 87 Fall Classic matched the American League Champion Twins against the National League Champion St. Louis Cardinals. In a tightly contested series the Twins emerged victorious after edging out the Cards four games to three.

Here we offer the 1987 Minnesota Twins Gold championship ring that was awarded to a former pivotal member of the Twins Hall of Fame power hitter Harmon Killebrew. Though Killebrew never won a World Series championship during his 14-year tenure with the Twins (1961 to 74) he was given this beautiful ring for his incredible loyalty to the team and his outstanding play throughout his impressive career one in which he hit 573 home runs over 22 seasons. The ring appears exactly as it was supplied to Killebrew in mint condition and still housed in both its original hinged wooden display case and cardboard Jostens packaging. Genuine diamonds litter the logo "M" set into a blue stone on the rings face and encircled with raised text reading "Twins World Champions." One shank reads "KILLEBREW" positioned above the Twins team logo while the other shank provides the vintage (1987) and an image of the coveted World Series trophy along with the tally (4-3) of the tightly-contested seven-game battle the first in history in which the home team won every game. Its interior band is stamped "Jostens" and measures to a size 12. The ring displays light wear and is in Near Mint condition.
