Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew was a power-hitting left fielder and first baseman for the Minnesota Twins. He played 14 seasons (1961 to 74) in the Twin Cities and launched a total of 573 home runs during his 22-year career. He competed in three postseasons but only qualified to play in one Fall Classic in 1965. After winning the American League pennant that year with an impressive 102-60 record the Twins faced the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. In a classic seven-game series the Dodgers outlasted the Twins four games to three with a 2-0 shutout in Game 7 thrown by Dodgers Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax spelling the difference. For the series Killebrew batted .286 with one home run. For the season playing the majority of games at first base he hit 25 round-trippers and drove in 75 runs.

This lot features the late Killebrews one and only American League Championship ring. The 14K gold beauty boasts one large diamond on top above a blue stone surrounded by the words AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS in raised lettering. One shank shows the Minnesota Twins logo with a baseball crossed by the two intersecting bats and the year (1965) while the other shank reads KILLEBREW above the Twin Cities emblem with two ball players shaking hands above a baseball crossed by the two intersecting bats and Killebrews uniform number (3). The ring size is 11.5 weighs 11 grams and the inside band reads Jostens 14K. A classic treasure from one of baseballs most beloved heroes who passed away in 2011 at the age of 74.

Includes LOA from Harmon Killebrew.
