Here we have a World Champions 3-peat commemorative cowboy style belt buckle dedicated to the former Oakland A's backstop first base and utility man extraordinaire Gene Tenace. Not that a man's man nicknamed "Steamboat" needs a prop like this to feel any tougher. Tenace was a menace to the Cincinnati Reds in the 1972 Fall Classic slugging 4 homers and driving in 9 runs to win World Series MVP honors. His Oakland A's won again in '73 and '74 to pull off the magical 3-peat. Only the 2000 New York Yankees have been able to accomplish this since.

The oval-shaped belt buckle made of sterling overlay with 1/10 10K gold fill components measures 4" by 3" at its longest and widest. The exquisite design features the "A's" patented logo at center inscribed "WORLD CHAMPIONS" on top "1972 1973" on left "1974" on right and "GENE TENACE" on the bottom. The background on the face is a floral spade-like spiraling pattern with a perimeter of perfectly aligned pellets. The back is stamped "GIST" (maker) and has the necessary attachments for fastening. The belt buckle presents well in EX-NM condition with some black spotting in the center. It comes as-issued from Gene "Steamboat" Tenace's personal collection.

Includes a Letter of Authenticity from Gene Tenace.
