The elusive and legendary Ty Cobb Tobacco Tin shares dual status as not only the most important tin in the realm of sports collecting but also as the most heralded of all tobacco tins baseball or otherwise. Its magnitude is due in equal parts to its rarity subject and bold graphics. Both sides picture Cobb in the same yellow background pose featured in the T206 American Tobacco card issue. This is one of approximately five Ty Cobb Tobacco Tins known to exist. The overall condition and display quality of this tremendous rarity rates is quite pleasing. A few minor dents are present and scattered areas of surface flaking and rusting are also evident but not critical to the overall presentation quality of the piece. All in all this is an extremely fine example of the king of baseball tobacco tins. Measures 3-1/4 by 4-1/2 inches.
