Few professional athletes ever came to personify the team they played with as much as Bill Laimbeer would loom as the face of the Bad Boys Detroit Pistons in the 1980s when the club won back-to-back NBA titles. The 6-11 Laimbeer spent most of his career in Detroit earning four All-Star nods along the way and just generally presiding over a rowdy group that more closely resembled the NBAs rough-and-tumble legionnaires in the giddy days of the 1950s. This sparkling jersey hails from those early 1980s years as the Pistons started to come together after years of mediocrity. This extremely rare alternate style adds to the luster; it boasts the stacked Sand-Knit labeling on the left-front tail (Size 44). Shirt has red white and blue elastic side panels and trim around the collar and shoulders. Pistons is screened in red and blue on the front and his No. 40 in the same fashion front and back. Laimbeer is screened in blue on the back and is one of the indicators of good game usage with a significant amount of chipping of the blue-screened letters in his name. Shirt is in wonderful condition and is an important relic from one of the key members of a franchise with a fanatical following for a decade.
