The 2000 MLB All Star Game was held in Atlanta’s Turner Field a place Derek Jeter knew well from his previous experience beating the Braves in the 1996 and 1999 World Series. As he always did when it counted most Jeter came through in the clutch going 3-3 including the key two-run single that gave the American League the tying and go-ahead runs in their 6-3 win over the NL. His terrific performance earned him the game’s MVP Award and was a harbinger of the MVP Award he would win in that Fall Classic's famous "Subway Series."
Presented here is Jeter's game-used locker room seat from the 2000 Midsummer Classic when "El Capitan" and his Yankee teammates were on their way to winning three championships in four years. The white seat back is emblazoned with the 2000 All-Star Game logo. Jeter has signed the red seat cushion in bold 9-10/10 silver paint pen adding the inscription “00 All Star MVP.” The chair shows light use and the inscription presents wonderfully on the red surface.
Includes LOA from Steiner Sports certifying the 2000 ASG game usage plus two Steiner COA's for the autograph and inscription. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
