Now 86 years old Arnold Palmer is retired but remains one of the greatest professional golfers in history as he won numerous events on both the PGA Tour and Champions Tour dating back as far as 1955. . Nicknamed "The King" Arnie is one of golf's most popular stars and its most important trailblazer because he was the first superstar of the sport's television age which began in the 1950s. Palmer won a total of seven majors: The Masters (1958 60 62 and 64); the U.S. Open (1960); and The British Open (1961 and 62). This lot features one of Arnie's circa 2004-2006 tournament-worn and autographed Slazenger polo shirts from the tail end of his [Senior PGA] Champions Tour days. The white (size L) 100% cotton polo shirt sports an embroidered "Latrobe C.C." (Palmer's home golf course in PA) on the left chest below Arnie's patented multi-colored umbrella logo. Jaguar a longtime golf sponsor has its embroidered logo sewn on the left sleeve barely visible in white. Palmer's large bold signature in 8-9/10 black marker appears across the front. The outline of his signature shows some signs of bleeding. The shirt has been designated 1/1 by Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) officials.
