Arnold Palmer was one of the best golfers of all time. Now 86 years of age Arnie is retired but remains one of the greatest players in men's professional golf history as he won numerous events on both the PGA Tour and Champions Tour dating back as far as 1955. Nicknamed "The King" he is one of golf's most popular stars and its most important trailblazer because he was the first superstar of the sport's television age which began in the 1950s. Arnie won a total of seven majors: The Masters (1958 60 62 and 64); the U.S. Open (1960); and The British Open (1961 and 62). This lot features one of Arnie's circa circa 2004-2006 tournament-worn and autographed Slazenger polo shirts from the tail end of his [Senior PGA] Champions Tour days. The yellow (size L) 100% cotton polo shirt sports an embroidered "Latrobe C.C." (Palmer's home golf course in PA) on the left chest below Arnie's patented multi-colored umbrella logo. The logo for Jaguar a longtime golf sponsor is embroidered on the left sleeve. Palmer's large bold signature in 9-10/10 black marker appears across the front. The shirt has been designated 1/1 by Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) officials.
