Baseball Hall of Famer Eddie Murray was a longtime first baseman and designated hitter who played 15 of his 21 MLB seasons in the American League. A member of the prestigious 500 Home Run Club Murray also knew how to flash the leather and not just his bat as he collected three Rawlings Gold Glove awards during the course of his career. This lot features Murray’s game used first baseman’s glove dating from the end of the 1980's to the early 1990's.

Though a mainstay with the Baltimore Orioles from 1977 to 1988 Murray had moved to the National League in the early 90’s and was covering first base for both the Dodgers (1989 to ’91) and Mets (1992-93) at that time. He would then head back to the A.L. with the Indians ('94-96). The broken-in Wilson PRO-BACK dual hinge leather glove (Model A2800) shows solid game use and includes “EDDIE MURRAY” embroidered in black along the outside of the left thumb area. In 1990 and ’91 in fact Murray played 298 games at first base for the Dodgers and posted fielding percentages of .992 and .955 respectively.
