The late great Basketball Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain ended his prolific career as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. The 7’ 1” center nicknamed “Wilt the Stilt” led the team to the 1972 NBA title in fact. This lot features a circa 1970's pair of his practice-worn sweatpants. The yellow cotton pants show incredible wear and include three different team repairs in the hind quarters left hip and crotch areas. The well-worn sweats are sporting several different stains including what appears to be some blood on the back. The right front thigh area is stamped in green: “L.A. Lakers 13” reflecting the team’s name and Wilt’s uniform number. The original draw string is not included. These sweatpants originated from the Wilt Chamberlain Estate and now come directly from SCP Auctions president David Kohler's esteemed "Lakers Shrine" Collection.
