The late Wilt Chamberlain was a 7’ 1” center in the NBA who in 1962 scored 100 points in a single game. Although he competed for three different teams (Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers) during the course of his 15-year career he won his only NBA title in 1972 as a member of the Lakers. This lot features a few circa 1970 worn garments of Chamberlain’s that he utilized during practices in Los Angeles.

The first item is a heavily used yellow satin gym bag that has Wilt’s uniform number “13” sewn on to it in purple tackle twill. The second piece is a pair of purple stirrups with yellow trim and a single yellow stirrup with purple trim. All three stirrups reflect plenty of wear. The third piece to this puzzle is a pair of well-worn white cotton shorts (size XL) with an elastic waistband. “L.A. LAKERS” is stamped in green on the outside right thigh area.  The fourth and final piece to this impressive lot is a gold BIKE-branded knee pad (size Large) worn by Chamberlain. Each piece originated from the Wilt Chamberlain Estate and now comes directly from SCP Auctions president David Kohler's esteemed "Lakers Shrine" Collection.
