Richard Milhous Nixon was the 37th President of the United States serving from 1969 until 1974 when he became the only U.S. president to resign the office. During his tenure as POTUS he was visited by countless dignitaries and celebrities every month. This lot features a gold-plated Golf Pride putter that Nixon had in the Oval Office that was used by none other than comedian Bob Hope during a visit one day to the White House. The 35-inch long putter has a gold-colored shaft that extends to its gold-plated head that measures just 3.25 long. It includes Richard Nixon engraved on one side of the club head that connects to a raised Seal of the United States of America medallion. Included with the putter is a framed color 8 by 10 photo of Hope lining up to putt next to Nixon in the Oval Office.
Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
