Fresh to the market circa 1965-69 Wilie Mays game used Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger S2 model bat in excellent condition. The piece of lumber used by Willie Mays in some of his best years exhibits evidence of excellent use with several ball marks and ball stitch impressions throughout the barrel. Green bat rack streams are also prevalent. A light coat of pine tar exists on the mid-handle along with the number (S2) stamped on the knob as well as Mays' number (24). A small handle crack can be noticed in the middle of the bat. Tape was affixed at one point to hold the crack together but has since been removed, improving the eye appeal of the piece of lumber.
PSA/DNA has given the bat a near-perfect GU 8.5 grade, certainly impressive for a bat with a crack. Accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA. Weight 33.8 oz. Length 35 inches.
