After joining the team in its fifth year of existence, Dave Winfield’s steady hitting made him the face of the San Diego Padres. He represented the Padres in four All-Star Games and averaged .273 through eight years. Winfield capped off his San Diego sojourn with 20 homers and 23 stolen bases in 1980. His 1980 Adirondack 'DW20' Professional Model bat displays excellent use with a handle crack. Slight checking from repeated ball contact is found on the back barrel while the left, right, and back barrel shows several ball marks and scuffs. The handle has a heavy coat of pine tar, and the upper handle has a ring of adhesive tape to secure the crack. The bat’s model number and year are stamped into the knob end. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA and has been graded a GU 9.
