Offered is an early Joe DiMaggio photo, which was taken the year of his major league debut in 1936 according to the writing on the back. In the original shot, DiMaggio is receiving a police escort outside a minor league ballpark. This means the photo was likely taken shortly before his debut on May 3, 1936, when he batted ahead of Lou Gehrig in the lineup. The Yankees would go on to win their first of four consecutive World Series that season. The image has been encapsulated and authenticated Type I by PSA/DNA.
