Featured here is a stunning original portrait of Yankees legend Lou Gehrig snapped in 1932 as part of a series of professional studio photos arranged by famous sports agent Christy Walsh to promote Larrupin' Lou and his other big client, Babe Ruth. The Iron Horse looks dapper in a white dress shirt, bow tie and dark sport coat. The use of bright light upon his charming face against a dark background make this a masterful piece of black and white photography and surely one Gehrig's finest non-baseball images ever taken.

Only one other Type 1 example of this original photograph has surfaced to our knowledge, and this one remains in immaculate condition. Perfectly centered within its clean white borders, Lou's smiling image is crystal clear and the surface, edges and corners are essentially mint by photo standards (scratching on PSA/DNA holder, not the photo itself).
