Babe Ruth was incredibly well known for handling lumber on the baseball field, but offered here is a unique look at him lugging tree trunks in an intimate moment on his farm. Dressed in the attire of the times, Ruth's larger-than-life presence is juxtaposed against the pastoral setting, creating a tableau that embodies the essence of American nostalgia. This photo is a rare look into the Sultan of Swat’s life off the field that we are so accustomed to seeing with today’s players but was much less common in his day. The photo has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA and deemed Type I.
