Brent Mayne retired in 2004 after 15 productive seasons catching in the Majors. He was drafted and developed by Kansas City and spent more than half his career wearing the Royal blue. Known for his defense Mayne finished with a .993 career fielding percentage and .263 career batting average not-too-shabby for a guy who spent around 100 games a year squatting behind the dish. In this lot we have 3 unique items:

1. The hockey-style orange and black San Fransisco Giants catcher's mask shows plenty of game use and abuse and has been signed by Mayne on the crest of the forehead in silver felt tip pen. The autograph has some minor scratches as well as the inscription "3-22-99" but would still rank a 8-9/10.

2. The royal blue batting helmet from Mayne's days with the Royals is pretty well beat up with plenty a game use scratches and has been signed in black felt tip pen on the bill. Overall this autograph would rate a 7-8/10.

3. The uniform for Brent's collage playing days with the Cal State Fullerton Titans is a game used blue mesh jersey with orange stripes/accents. The jersey show light to moderate game use. On the front the lettering is an orange with white border heat applied "Fullerton" with a A.I.S. tag affixed to the lower left. On the back is a large #7 in orange with white border and MAYNE in white heat pressed lettering.Includes a Letter of Provenance from The Newport Sports Museum.
