In 1998 Arizona Diamondbacks rookie first baseman Travis Lee made an impressive entrance during the franchises inaugural season. He batted .269 through 146 games collecting 151 hits including 22 home runs. He finished third in the balloting for the National League Rookie of the Year award. This lot includes Lees game-worn rookie home uniform from that first season. The 100% polyester Russell Athletic jersey (size 48) is white with purple pinstriping and includes Diamond Backs slanted across the front of the chest in teal tackle twill lettering outlined in purple and white. The same holds true for his last name LEE across the back accompanied by his uniform number (16) in purple tackle twill with outlining in white and teal. The number also appears on the jerseys left front side. A special embroider patch commemorating the franchises inaugural season of 1998 adorns the left sleeve. Proper tagging appears on the left front tail with the Russell Athletic manufacturers label accompanied by two strip tags reading 100% Polyester and 1 Extra Length. The accompanying Russell Athletic pants sports the proper manufacturers label in the inside rear waistband with additional sewn-on tagging reading 16 37/39-30-98 to identify the players uniform number waistband inseam length and year. Both articles of clothing show only minor wear.
