The late Billy Casper who just passed away this past February at the age of 83 was one of the most prolific tournament winners on the PGA Tour from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s. He emerged from the junior golf hotbed of San Diego where golf could be played year-round to rank seventh all-time in career Tour wins with 51 across a 20-year period between 1956 and 1975. After reaching age 50 Casper regularly played the Senior PGA Tour and was a winner there until 1989. This lot features one of Caspers trusty putters a Golf Tech Bob Adamson GT-1 model. The 36 putter with black leather-wrapped handle shows plenty of use and is the one that Casper donated to the special fund-raising project on behalf of the Boys Club of Royal Oak Michigan. In a typed letter that accompanied the donation dated August 31 1977 Casper wrote: I thank you for the honor of being included in your most worthy project on behalf of the Boys Club of Royal Oak. I am sending a putter that I have used on numerous occasions. It has served me well. I hope the recipient will enjoy it. A terrific tournament-used putter from the one-time Masters Tournament champion (1970) and two-time U.S. Open champ (1966 and 70).

Includes original signed letter from Casper to the Boys' Club of Royal Oak as well as autographed 8" x 10" black-and-white artist's rendering of Casper.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
