Barry Sanderselectrified the NFL for ten incredible seasons from 1989 to 1998 and is considered by most standards as the most exciting running back in league history. He retired early at the age of 31 with 15269 rushing yards just 1457 shy of the all-time record at that point. In 1997 he becamejust the 3rd player in NFL history to gain more than 2000 yards in asingle season. The former Heisman trophy winner is a member of both the college and Pro Football Hall of Fame. This circa 1995 Detroit Lions team-issued helmet has been autographed by Sanders in 7-8/10 black marker on the left side of the shell. The Riddell VSR-4 pro model helmet (size L) has a "TM/1995 NFLP" sticker inside. Thesilver shell has the Lions logo decals on both sides with the NFL and warning label decals on the rear. All elements including the facemask neck pad ear pads interior cushioning and chinstrap are perfectly intact with little to no wear. The helmet appears unused likely issued for the Lions but never worn in a game. It was acquired by a former Chicago Bears front office executive via trade with another Lions executive.
