Ann Meyers Drysdale was named co-MVP of the WPBL in 1979-80 for the New Jersey Gems. She was the first woman drafted in the inaugural 1978 WBL draft making her the first professional women's player ever drafted. Fresh off here NCAA championship with UCLA in 1978 her dominance on the court was astounding.
This lot features her 1979-80 New Jersey Gems game-worn warm-up suit from her MVP season in which she led the league in scoring. The zipper-down baby blue top with white and yellow highlights includes two zipper pockets on the front and is adorned on the back with "GEMS" and Meyers Drysdale's trademark uniform number "15" both in white tackle twill outlined in yellow. The accompanying blue pants with elastic waist sport yellow and white stripes down each leg with 12" zippers on the bottom of both legs for easy disrobing before game time.
