September 3 1892 handwritten William McKinley 2 page letter on Executive Department stationary from the period when he served as Governor of Ohio before being elected President in 1896. McKinley served a full first term as the 25th President of the United States but after winning re-election in 1900 he was gunned down by an assassin in September of 1901. The letter contains personal correspondence to a friend. Strong 9/10 vintage black ink signature with a little smudge on part of the "W". Letter clean but has separated at top fold on front. The other folds are also very tenuous and prone to separate. Professional framing should take care of this once the letter is separated at spine and the pages set side by side for display.
